Terms of Service for SplitChores

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using SplitChores ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SplitChores is a collaborative task management application that helps families, couples, roommates, and friends organize and share household chores and responsibilities. The App includes features such as:

• Task creation, assignment, and tracking
• Group collaboration and real-time synchronization
• Recurring task management
• Progress tracking and notifications
• Stress relief and wellness tools

3. User Accounts and Eligibility

3.1 Account Requirements

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• One person per account - sharing accounts is prohibited

3.2 Age Requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old to use this service

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use SplitChores only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You will NOT:

• Use the service to harass, abuse, threaten, or harm others
• Share inappropriate, offensive, illegal, or copyrighted content
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage the service or other users' data
• Use the service for commercial purposes without our written permission
• Create fake accounts, impersonate others, or provide false information
• Spam, send unsolicited messages, or engage in fraudulent activities
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5. User Content and Data

5.1 Ownership

• You retain ownership of all content you create (tasks, groups, messages, notes)
• You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your content
• You must have the right to share any content you upload or create

5.2 License to Us

• You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, sync, and display your content
• This license is solely for providing and improving our services
• We will not use your content for advertising or marketing purposes
• This license terminates when you delete your content or account

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference, to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

7. Limitation of Liability

SplitChores is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access
• Service interruptions or technical failures
• Disputes between users or group members
• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities

8. Termination

8.1 Termination by You

• You may delete your account at any time through the App settings
• Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
• Your data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy

8.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in harmful or illegal activities.

9. Service Modifications and Beta Features

• Feature Changes: We may modify, update, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Beta Features: Some features may be in beta testing and may not work as expected
• Work in Progress: SplitChores is continuously improving, so some features may change over time
• No Guarantee: We do not guarantee that all features will remain available indefinitely

10. User Disputes and Group Conflicts

• Not Responsible: We are not responsible for disputes between group members
• Informal Records: Tasks and assignments in SplitChores are informal records, not legally binding contracts
• Resolution: Users must resolve conflicts independently - we do not mediate disputes
• Account Suspension: We may suspend accounts involved in serious conflicts that violate our terms

11. Future Paid Features

• Current Service: SplitChores is currently provided free of charge
• Future Pricing: We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future
• Advance Notice: Any future pricing will be clearly communicated with reasonable advance notice
• Grandfathering: Existing users may receive continued access to current features

12. Wellness Features Disclaimer

• Entertainment Only: Stress relief and wellness tools are for entertainment and motivation only
• Not Medical Advice: These features do not constitute medical, health, or wellness advice
• Consult Professionals: For health concerns, consult qualified medical professionals

13. Changes to Terms

• We may update these Terms from time to time
• We will notify you of material changes through the App
• Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms
• If you disagree with changes, you must stop using the App
